Coc Mod Fenoxo: Reworking Gills for a More Realistic Shark-Morph

As we continue to explore the world of Coc, one aspect that has caught my attention is the reworking of gills for shark-morphs. While it's fascinating to see creatures adapt and transform into new forms, I believe that incorporating fish-like gills would enhance the overall aesthetic and realism of these morphs.

In this article, we'll delve deeper into the reasoning behind my proposal and explore some examples of how gills could be reworked for a more realistic appearance. We'll also discuss the current state of the mod and what's to come in the future.

The Inspiration Behind Fish-Like Gills

When transforming into shark-morphs, most races lose their gills, which can result in an awkward or unnatural appearance. I believe that incorporating fish-like gills would not only be more realistic but also add a touch of elegance to these morphs. For instance, the Atlach Nacha and Mindbreakers are already impressive examples of what can be achieved with gill rework.

Some excellent examples of creatures that could benefit from fish-like gills include the wood elves (before their naming ceremony) and jiangshi. These creatures would not only look more realistic but also gain a unique feature that sets them apart from others.

Current State of the Mod

I've started working on my planned gill rework, which will aim to create a more realistic appearance for shark-morphs. This rework could be either permanent or semipermanent, allowing players to still transform out of it and try again if needed.

Future Developments in the Mod

In addition to the gill rework, I'm excited to announce that Wendigo will soon be available in the Glacial for the first one. Unfortunately, this was delayed due to missing scenes, but I'm confident that it'll be worth the wait.
